Sign up for MARIANNE: A SENSE AND SENSIBILITY SEQUEL (and... historical romance!)

Have had a toughish time here in London recently with family health issues on two continents, so please forgive lateness on the latest giveaway!!! (see below for this month's giveaway!)

The big news is that my Marianne: a Sense and Sensibility Sequel is finished and will be published in late October. This is the fifth in my multi-award-winning series of Austen-inspired novels. Any of you wishing to join my ARC team – and very very grateful thanks for those of you who already volunteered for a pre-publication copy!!! – please contact me on my website link.

(ARC - advanced reader copies - are gifted to supporters willing to read a full-length ebook by late October, in order to post honest Amazon reviews on publication day. You get an early book... I get reviews on, or around, publication day!!! In other words, it's win-win!!! 🤩)

These are FREE copies, and 99% perfect (OK, OK, maybe 97%). Any typos you spot would be MOST gratefully received before it's committed to paperback. My editor is amazing, as is my proofreader - but, sadly, there’s no book in the world completely typo-free… (and yes, Simon and Schuster, I'm looking at YOU!!!)

MARIANNE is a “second chance historical romance” and definitely my most romantic book, though it’s still got quite a lot of social satire in it. As usual, I mix up the characters from Austen’s books. Here’s the blurb:

Unexpectedly widowed and her two years of mourning completed, Marianne returns to London still not yet 21, rich and still very beautiful. To her surprise, she is besieged with admirers. Once her ultra-romantic sixteen-year-old sister Margaret joins her, the sparks begin to fly…

Alice's Raffle: beautiful Sense and Sensibility bookbag!!!!

ENGLISH CLASSIC - Ideal for fans of Jane Austen's classic Sense and Sensibility. On the back of the book cover is the quote "I wish, as well as everybody else, to be perfectly happy; but, like everybody else, it must be in my own way."

Alice's event in London, September 21st

(Sadly, not on her actual B-day but...)

Anyway, this is a professional event featuring professional London musicians - including myself - playing Regency-era music interspersed with readings from Austen and (coughs) my own works. (Soprano, solo flute, solo cello and string quartet will be performing Mozart, Beethoven, and songs Austen might have sung.)

In the interval I'll be offering half-price paperbacks of the first four in my series, with professionally catered cakes to follow.

Plenty of free parking (on a Sunday afternoon)... wonderful music... and Austen!!!! Petts Wood station is only half-an-hour from Charing Cross or Waterloo stations (also trains from Victoria), and the venue is a ten-minute walk from Petts Wood station.

(For those of you in the US, Canada or Australia, clips on my youtube channel to follow.)

Happy Reading!!!!!!
